"Will the choice make your life easier? Sure. Will it require less of you? Of course. But in the end, giving less will not do your heart justice" (Polson 78).
This quote has caused me to think about if it is better to do the minimal amount needed and live an easy life, or do things to the best of your ability. I decided that in most cases, you should do things to the best of your ability. This can apply to many different places, including school. You are able to get grades like C's and D's and still be able to graduate, but in my opinion, you should attempt to do better than that. It is much more fulfilling to me when I do all my work and see that I have received high grades, instead of just occasionally doing my homework, never studying, and barely passing. Personally, I would not be content with just low, passing grades. It bothers me when I see friends who constantly miss school, and don't care about their grades because I think they will regret doing this later in life. Your level of effort can also affect those around you. In the example of school, your parents may be the ones who are affected. It fills many parents with pride when they see that their child is working hard and being successful in what they are doing. It just seems that the better option is to be content with what you have done rather than getting through it easily.
