Authors opinion
Jarrod Polson, the author of Living Beyond the Dream feels that in order to be successful, you must be patient. He was taught this lesson shortly after his high school basketball career ended, and he didn't know what was next. He figured that if he would be receiving any scholarships, he would have got them by now. He almost decided to just pick any college he could get into and give up his basketball career. Instead, he made the decision to wait, which turned out well for him. He soon learned that his dream school of Kentucky had interest in him, and he would later make. Without patience, Jarrod would have ended up at a college he may not like, while studying a topic he didn't care about.
My opinion
This text has caused me to think about the topic of patience and whether it is good or bad. Personally, I believe having patience is important, even though it can be hard to maintain at times. If you have a dream that hasn't been accomplished, then you must wait patiently for it to happen. If you don't wait, then you have given up and you may never achieve them. Some people say that by waiting on your dream, you are wasting time. To me, the risk is worth the reward because by doing what you enjoy, happiness will be easily achieved.
Reflection
I have enjoyed the book so far and by reading in quiet places, it's easier for me to concentrate and understand what is happening. Since the book is about basketball, it is much more interesting and easier for me to read than book about another topic would have been.
